True turktrax - he will be tender, but they did have a nice doe there that was quite a bit larger than the little guy. I was a little envious if truth be told as I really would have preferred a doe. I wonder if the little guy would have grown up to be a huge 10-pointer had he lived. No way to know. I'm grateful to have the meat.

Good luck with your turkey hunting.

It sure was fun to hunt off the golf cart. Gave me renewed energy to get my old Melex cleaned up and modified for hunting. The EZ-Go I was using belongs to my friend.

If you dont mind me asking, what part of TX do you hunt? We are supposed to hunt this spring around San Angelo from what I was told. Its gonna take us a good while to make the drive but to be able to hunt for free makes up for it. Well, I say for free, I have to build the owner a turkey call but that's a small price to pay for a bird I feel.

I took this turkey just South of Abilene. San Angelo looks to be not that far SW of where I was. I live in the NE Dallas burbs just north of Wylie. My deer lease is up in the far NE part of Texas South of Texarcana, not far from LA. I haven't seen any turkey sign up there.

If you're going through Dallas on your trip and want to make a stop you're welcome to stop here. I assume you'd make the trip in one day, but if you wanted to break it up we have 3 empty bedrooms. San Angelo is gonna be 5.5 to 6 hours from my place, depending on when you try to drive through the city.

I really appreciate the offer. We probably will make the trip in one day. Most likely we will be taking I-10W most of the way cause the guy I will be hunting with lives in the southern part of Mississippi. I will keep you in mind though. I'm just ready for it to hurry up and get here.

No problem, I figured you'd want to make the drive in one day. Good luck when you go. George
