Are those domestic pigs. I ask because they have white markings on them, or are they mixed with wild pigs. We have javelina here and they are solid colored.

They are wild pigs. I am sure it wasn't too long ago that they broke away from the domestic family. We have some funky colored pigs around here. I am gonna probably gonna try and get me one this weekend. I will try and get some pics and video..

They probably taste better. Javelina are really gamey tasting.

Wild pigs taste good. The good thing is that you can hunt them all year round and there is no limit on how many you can kill.

Deer season before last, I had a herd of hogs come out on a field I was hunting. There must have been at least 50 of them. Thet were 300+ yards away so I didn't get a shot that day. I have killed 7-8 of them but have never tried to cook any. I just want them off our land. They will destroy a food plot or row crops. And they will tear your tractor up when you run over the holes in the ground from them rooting up.
Its strange, when you shoot one, you want see them for awhile. I guess they just up or down the creek bottom to find a safe place, but They'll Be Back. |

I have noticed the same thing when I kill one or two they dissapear for about a month..talked to a guy out here that traps them & said they don't like the smell of there own dead, so if he kills one in a trap he has to wash the blood off real good or they won't hit it again.
