Default 2510 Mule engine

I can buy these things for $500 with a bad motor all day. The motor is $3000+ and can't be rebuilt. They did not build the motors with rod or bearings for the mains or rods!!! The engine is basically a generator engine. Has anybody looked to see how hard it would be to throw a 20HP V twin in one? It's a shame to see these very rugged machines continue to get tossed because of a rediculously expensive motor.

Can you point me in the direction of getting a Mule with a bad motor? I would probably use an atv motor if I could find that. send here Daldo2369@hotmail.com

I'd like to know as well? I'd find a motor for it.

Ah yes, the 2510. It had a kawasaki 25hp in it if I remember right? I don't see why you couldn't try to get one going? It is a dual clutch drive belt system? Correct? Where are you located?

that engine was used in a lot of equipment, same engine as the john deere 425 lawn tractor, 90's john deere 6x4 gator, etc all will fit but you need to buy the clutch for a 1" shaft. can still buy brand new for 1,700 i have seen 6 or 7 new fd620 mule engines on e-bay go for a 1,000, a v-twin will fit with the clutch. it's to bad i just sold a mule engine
last week for 775.00 rebuilt.

this one is for sale on e-bay right now

the 2510 was 20hp, can't rebuild?? i do them 4 or 5 times a yr, they sell over size pistons under size rods, unless there is a hole in the block they can be repaired

yes, just as others! over sized pistons, undersized rods are all available but not cheap. to re power with something else is easy also.
