I have a Mule 1000 that I bought for 500.00 and I am looking at maybe putting a diff engine and trans in it. It appears that the tranny and engine are all one piece(except the head) and I was wondering if anyone had done a swap . I have a feeling it is going to be a little beyond my means,as I have zero XP and dont really have a shop to work in. BTW It is kaf450 engine I believe. Thanks

$500 for a Mule 1000 is a heck of deal. Those machines usually last forever. We had one here at work that was auctioned off a couple of years back that had a little over 14,000 miles on it. It was used for landscaping purposes. One of the members here (mulecart76) bought it and used for a short period of time. I'm not really sure what you would be looking at for an upgrade or swap. And your right about the engine and trans., they are all practically one unit and very expensive when having repaired.

Undefeated!! 9-0!!

It needs total rebuild(the pistons and rods are missing) I was thinking the way the whole eng/trans was mounted i might be able to build a engine mount and put whatever engine and trans i wanted. It has 1 bolt that hold current set up in place at the front of the engine compartment and have not really looked but the axles look to be the only other connect point(or rather the axle mount)
