Yamaha drive Jakes lift....IS THIS RIGHT?
Just finished installing the lift. Install was easy but my camber is way off and the front rims are rubbing the spindle drop arms at the top side of the rim. I am sure I can space the rims back with some washers at the lug bolts to cure the rub. Is this normal for this type of lift? I only see adjustment for toe, nothing for camber. I bought this as a complete tire and lift kit.

Re: jakes 6" spindle lift....IS THIS RIGHT?
Seems like the rim backspacing is incorrect. Might try some wheel spacers. I suggest getting the thinnest spacers that will do the job. The thicker the spacers, the more load increase added to the bearings. The camber thing looks like the same camber as the stock suspension has.

What size rims are you running? I think it calls for 10" rims/wheels minimum. could be, wrong off set on the rims, Bad wheel bearings, king pins are wore out

Re: Yamaha drive Jakes lift....IS THIS RIGHT?
'Doesn't seem right. I've got the same wheel/tire size with Jake's lift on my Yamaha G29 (Drive)...and have nearly an inch of clearance on each side. I'd be sure to get Jake's on the phone before I broke out the grinder.

What's rubbing, tire or wheel? If tire make sure they are not over inflated.

I'd call Jake's and ask their opinion. They know their products the best out of any of us. I wouldn't take a guess on front suspension work, could be lethal.

Re: Yamaha drive Jakes lift....IS THIS RIGHT?
I talked to Jakes and got sent to a Tech with my problem. The Tech I spoke with told me there have been issues on the Yamahas and that grinding material from the drop arm is advised to provide clearance. According to the Tech removing up to a 1/4" will not effect the integrity.
