A lot depends on what the purpose of the cart is.If its lifted for light road/ trail-use,hunting,and yard-work the block lifts are fine, just upgrade the hardware, they usually include junk grade-2 hardware that loosens, breaks or strips out.Use grade-5 or 8.If you plan on hard trail use/abuse, go with a better kit than the block, you will be much happier with the durability.Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply. will I see any visible difference in the cart between the two lifts? caster/camber? I don't want it to look like a buck tooth wrangler with lift shackles

I think the block lift may be electric only

They make them for both,Gas or Electric, but they are different kits on Marathons.Gas has coils in the rear,Electric has leaf springs.

I have a 5" block lift for 1980-1994 gas models if you are interested. It's brand new. It's missing one of the longer bolts ( didn't come with it). Should be easy to match up though. It's a u.s. built kit. You are supposed to be able to fit 23" tires with the right wheel offset. I paid $100 shipped. I'll do $80 shipped.

Just make sure you don't buy any cheap chinese off brand cause you will probably be replacing parts or the whole kit eventually.

i say ditch the block lift idea!. on the rear remove the coil spring cut the lower mount off and upper for (coil spring) take out the old rear shocks replace with Polaris 700 rear atv shocks(which are coil overs and are adjustable) 60-70$ for a set >ebay which then all you have to do is get a piece of steel flat bar and make a U shaped shock mount for the bottom and the Polaris shock fits perfect on the existing top bolt mount for the shocks get it lined up bolt it in no welding at least i didn't!. for the front . do a txt drop axle all you need is 1989-1994 medalist/ marathon 4 stroke front spindles they fit into the txt drop axle. then all you need to do is lengthen the tie rod in the middle and order txt leaf springs cut off 3" off the leaf spring bolt it all up set your toe chamber . then your done!. 5-6" in the front & same in the back. ill post pictures of the rear end my front im waiting on parts.
