Default 4x4 Club Car

I forgot to post these pictures earlier, but I also tried out a 2000 Club Car with the 4x4 kit. It's definitely a 4 wheel drive, that's all I can say!

It actually didn't ride bad, but the rear had HD leafs so that was sort of stiff. Forget about backing up while turning, it IS a 4x4. I got it in the most twist I could find going backwards, and with one of the rear wheels BARELY on the ground and the front wanting to pick one up, it went on up. I was surprised at how well it picked up and took hills with just the stock FE290 and no upgrades. It didn't turn really sharp, and didn't turn really "fun," but if all you do is beat around out in the woods over REALLY rough terrain, that thing would be a good choice. I did notice that Imaginative Manufacturing doesn't put a seal back in where they machine the rear end for the shaft. It had oil running out of it.

is it posi? That twisting sounds pretty severe if it had a differential.

It has a switch in the dash to unlock it. I just left it locked because there's no fun in a one-legged differential.

It actually turned fine (there is about 1" of gravel on top of pavement in most spots) going forwards. Reverse was definitely 4x4. Plus, I didn't find the unlock switch until I'd parked it.

I've been running 4x4's most of my life and have know idea what you mean by this reverse thing, if you have had some problem going backwards in a 4x4 maybe you need driving lessons.

I'm talking about the feeling of hesitation to turn when going in reverse. Since the front was locked, it wanted to drag the outside wheel and spin the inside one, while pushing the back of the cart sideways. It WOULD go, just had that feeling of binding that every 4x4 vehicle, from ATV to pickup, I have ever driven has had.

Here is the link. I am saving my pennies for one right now. It comes with a D&D torque motor. Scott Austin that owns it says that it will take about a day to put your first one on. They cost around $2200 shipping and all.
