Default g16 shocks

Put a 6" lift, rims and tires. And know this thing is wishy washy.. what are people doing for suspension after lift kits? Changing shocks and springs? Just springs? Is there something better than stock? Thanks tom

I put the Jake's HD rear shocks on after lift and adding rear seat. It rides a little stiff with no rear weight but not bad with a load.

I also bought new fronts because the ones I have are on there last leg. I just haven't had a chance to tear her down and install.

Tires make a difference too,Softer sidewalls will sway more, especially if they are lower pressure.Try increasing the pressure. The G16 is a common complaint for sway with a lift, due to the single-point mount on the front of the swing-arm(it makes it ride better, but lifting it makes it feel unstable). The HD rear springs help,Our has a Dual-Rate coil on the rears, and One shock was broken,so i swapped it for a standard shock, and it rode alot softer, and swayed more too.I swapped the coil back, and its good now, with and without rear flip-seat.Hope this helps.

This may sound stupid , I think it rides fine, but when parked you can walk up to it push on canopy support with hand and rock the crap out of body? Like it's way to soft?

Thats the Semi-Independent rear-suspension,The single pivot on the swing-arm allows it to roll sideways,as well as up/down,unlike older models that had 2-mounts,and the swing-arm moved up/down only.In stock form, they ride and handle awesome, but once lifted they sway, due to the raised center of gravity. Its' the nature of the beast.Put your weight on a rear corner, and you can pull the opposite front wheel off the ground, correct? With the Dual-Rate coils we have,it still sways some, but nothing like when I swapped them for the standard Single-Rate ones I had from a G9.The Dual-Rate will have a tightly wound area near the top, kinda like a beehive, then the rest of the coil is more evenly spaced, its like a Cargo-Coil for a car. When I built my Wifes' G16,she hated how it wandered and rolled.I had softer narrower 21/10-8 Duro Knobbie tires on it,Now it has 22/11-8 Trail-Pros which are stiff sidewalls, and a pretty flat tread area, not rounded/curved as much as the knobbies. It made a big difference.Hope this helps.
