Default what is the problem

I posted earlier that I wasn't overly impressed with my clone install and I'm wondering if the problem isn't the driven clutch. The cart is a 99 ezgo with a VC clone, stock except for the billet rod and the comet clutch. The cart didn't seem to have great acceleration but now it's getting worse and makes a nasty growling noise under a load, like climbing a hill under acceleration or with two or more people on board. Doesn't seem to want to go and the noise is loud. Is this likely the driven clutch? The noise is worse under load but any time you push the throttle hard it growls and vibrates.

No one has a clue as to what this might be?

Kinda hard to diagnose offer the net. Secondary clutches usually don't make growling noises though. That would be more indicative of a bad bearing. Is there any way you can remove the belt and spin the secondary clutch by hand? Almost sounds like you have axle issues to me.

X2 Streetbu, ---- surfdog you need to figure out where the noise is coming from. Engine mounts bad, drive clutch, driven clutch, Engine, bad bearing in the rear end, axle bearing, post a video of the cart when it makes the noise

OK, went to the local ezgo guy here in Sayulita and he seems to think it's the driven clutch. Going to pull it off tomorrow and we'll take it apart for a look. Let you all know what I find.

Mine was slipping on the crank because my adapter was not tight, so if you have an adapter check it.

To find out the problem, you really have to take things apart and inspect. On the other thread you were really focused on the oil leak. Did you get that resolved? Drivetrain problems will be visible when you take things apart and start inspecting. I'd look at the input shaft on the trans/axle, look for play in the shaft. Also might look at the axle bearings, look for play in the hubs, you can move the wheel up and down when off the ground. Need to check the basic things. Can't help you if you don't do your part.

OK, so I took the clutch apart yesterday and it was completely destroyed. The little plastic parts had worn down to the screws and beyond, the screws wore into the cam like device and the ramps on the inner sheave half were worn. I found a used one for about $100, cheap for Mex. Should be here monday. Hopefully it will cure the performance and noise issues.

If that clutch was "completely destroyed", I'm willing to bet that it will make a slight improvement....
