jakes l.t install g2
So I removed all the old shocks and arms. Now I'm to the point in I stalling the shock mounts where I need to drill a 3/8ths hole. My question is my mounts are not flush with the frame. Is this normal

Re: jakes l.t install g2
Should I just mount the bracket and get my mark and drill. Just go with it not being flush?

Contact Chris--Bokeasmowl. He put the LT on a G9, and it looks great.

Re: jakes l.t install g2
I had the same issue last weekend. I just drilled the hole and ran the nut down tight. Its not a perfect fit but it works fine. The real issue you are going to have is the turning radius. The new shocks interfere with the "S" shaped steering arm. You will be lucky to get a 50' turning radius out of it when you are done. I contacted Jakes and they told me that is how its supposed to be so it is safe for kids to drive. Seemed like a cop out to me. My feeling is that they sent out the new shocks without fully testing them on all of the lift kits. I ended up inverting the shocks and that seems to have helped but it is against the instructions supplied by Jakes. The steering is still not like turning a golf cart in my mind so I plan to further modify the steering in order to improve the situation. I have mixed feelings about installing this kit. I bought it to save time over fabricating a lift, but now I am spending time reengineering the kit to work for me.

Well that's not anything I wanted to hear. *** I really like how my god cart turns now. Now you're saying I'll be lucky to get a good turning radius. Kind of dissapointed now. I'll have to wait till later to work on the cart. Had any other g2 owners with l.t experience this issue?

Did u have any problems with the shock mounts not being flush? I know you have a g9. Is there a difference between the 2? I thought they were identical.
