Default Combining lift question?

About a week ago I bought a 99 club cart with a 8" lift and seen that there is a Z lift out there. So my question is..... can you combine both lifted for a total of 12" of lift. Or is cutting the frame a bad idea. Thanks for the replies everyone!

Generally speaking, the frame cut lift is for cruising only, not considered strong enough for true off roading... Yes you can combine lifts but will run into all sorts of issues with feeling tipsy, your center of gravity has been raised so much but the cart is still the same width.

Here's my opinion... it's never a good idea to "stack" lift kits!

Unfortunately for me, I already had a Z lift on my cart from the factory, but then, added a Jake's 3" spindle lift later!
I've beat the cr*p out of my cart off roading, and both the CC Z lift and the Jake's spindles held up amazingly well!
(where any "off brand" Z lift and/or spindle lift wouldn't last with my torture!)

But, here's the real question... WHY do you want your cart that high?

Well to be honest it is just used for cruising the camp grounds and I have a set of 28 inch big horn tires I would like to put under it. But I do understand what you are saying about being tipsy..... I guess time will tell for me and thanks alot for the replies.

The next concern would be enough power to turn 28" tires,if the cart is stock motored. It may be OK on flat ground, but with 4- decent sized adults or a small grade hill,it may stop or assume a crawl quickly. Then remember braking will be decreased as well.Hope this helps.

Yes that's very true, and just don't want to cut. I think I am going to keep what I have now and work on other mods.....

Actually, yeah... I know someone, and his cart "should' be in my garage in about a week!

It's a guy at the campground I used to be at, and he's been asking me (for years) to work on it.
and the only reason I'm taking it in is because, it's the only other "Lynx" gasser I've seen besides mine!

Apparently, it has an 8" a-arm (I never really looked at it that closely) on top of a factory 4" Z,
His cart was the first time I've seen an extended snubber bracket, I liked the idea so much, I did it to mine!
and the intake was kinda scabbed together with PVC pipe! and THAT was something I promised I'd fix for him.
It never really ran right, and he continued to beat it badly for 3 years, so I'm pretty sure I have my work cut out for me!

Just for your information, any lift above 6"... you WILL have to do other modifications to accommodate the additional height!
(Intermediate steering shaft, brake cables, snubber bracket, fuel lines, etc.)

I was expecting to post pics! (thinking of doing a thread all about it!)
that cart is in... ummm... "neglected" shape!

It might be showing up here Sunday or Monday, (IF... the "neglector" gets off his butt and brings it from the campground!)
No guarantees on WHEN I'll have it to post pics of the lift, it could be in two days, or two weeks!
