Breaking the Budget (Lifted with Air Ride) 93 Marathon
Ok last year I bought a 93 marathon out of a buddies field for a 100 bucks. I threw some wheels, paint, Batteries and fixed the body up.
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/membe...uilt-cart.html So I have always wanted a Lifted Cart maybe stretched with Air Ride. So I have decided to try and accomplish this goal this year with this old cart. My plan is to build a Lift, Add Air ride and stretch the cart. After I get this done I'd like to Upgrade the Batteries I bought last year to 48v, Add a Alltrax Controller and a Bandit Motor by PQ. I'm not looking for speed just a well equipped neighborhood/Campground Cruiser. So I have started with Tires, I bought an Aggressive set of Tires. These Are 25x9.50x12 Super Swamper Vampires that measure around 26.5" tall. I purchased these off ebay for only $242 shipped and Last Saturday I removed the low pros and installed them. |

I love those tires. I need too take a better look at Ebay. The cart is going to look great lifted and the tires and wheels will top it off great.
Good luck on the build. |

Mr Terry I hope not, I really hope to make just a cool cruiser and be able to turn down the output when I get a alltrax controller.
Thanks Man. Quote:

I had the vampires on a four wheeler and zillas on a golf cart. Both were rough on pavement but looked good.

Re: Breaking the Budget (Lifted with Air Ride) 93 Marathon
So I dont really have an update on the cart. I plan to play with it for a couple hours this weekend. However I do have everything to put the air ride on.
I'm going to install a Tankless Air Ride System. Meaning when I flip the switch for the fill valve to open the compressor will power on and when I release the switch to close the valve it will cut power to the compressor. Basically the switch will send power to the coil side of a 12v Relay to drive the compressor. I didnt want to install a Tank, Pressure switch on the cart, Kinda go the old school route from back in the day messing with minitrucks and have less clutter on the golfcart. The compressor, Line and Push to lock fittings are left over from when my c10 was bagged. The Compressor is a Viair 444, Front Shocks MA739, Rear Shocks MA785, Valves are 1/4" eBay Specials. Thinking of building a 2 link for the rear of the cart, not sure yet. |

Re: Breaking the Budget (Lifted with Air Ride) 93 Marathon
I don't see any valves to prevent the air from going from one shock to the other while on slopes or corners? Did I miss something?
I can only find these shocks in white — did you paint these? REALLY wanting to air out the back of my cart when I do the 4 link due to the massive fluctuation in loads I carry. So I'm paying close attention to your build. Keep those pics coming and thanks for sharing all the great detailed info about what parts your using. |
