4g wires for lift?
I am planning on buying a lift kit for my TXT this week (today's my birthday) and noticed one thread that mentioned the need to upgrade the battery wires to 4g. Is this correct? If so, why?
Thanks! |

Re: 4g wires for lift?
The suggestion for bigger wires acknowledges the higher amperage draw created by larger tires associated with a lifted cart.
Taller tires change the rear end gear ratio. This makes the motor work harder at all speeds. The motor will try to draw more amperage to make more power. Limiting components will hinder the increased demand. Components that need upgrading are: Speed controller Solenoid Cables. F&R switch (series carts only) |

Re: 4g wires for lift?
Typically 4g cable is recommended for 400 amp or less speed controls. This is a mild upgrade and works well where demands are not extreme like around the homestead, camp, or lake side where loads and inclines are not maximum in size. Off-road applications demand more torque which usually leads to larger motors, controllers, and 2g cables. I hope this helps.
