Default Re: Hauling Lifted carts in the bed of a pickup?

Thank you all for the help

KGSC , yes, ours is similar. We have a 36' Travel trailer, that has 1,200 lbs of tounge weight also

Mr Mike, do you have a picture between the truck and trailer, how much clearance you have between the two?

Ok, I didn't know everyone was removing their tailgates.

My bed from front to back is 82" to the edge of my bed

The cart measurement is 80" from the front tires where they would hit the front bed to the centerline of the rear tire

So if I remove the tailgate, I should be able to fit the cart into the rear of the bed and pull the camper

Madjax makes a Elite 5 folding rear seat where the bottom folds up, maybe I have to buy that rear seat

You shouldn't need to. The lift on the cart should give you enough clearance

fltekdiver - I'll get a picture the next chance I have.

Epb - I leave the top on going down the road. I've towed 65-70 mph and haven't had any problems provided the windshield is flipped down or open. I forgot to flip the windshield down one time and the wind busted it out for me...won't do that again.

I'm heading to Fort Wilderness this weekend. Id like to know how this is done. im thinking if i wedge the sponge between the body n WS its only securing the fixed part of the glass rather than the "top" flip portion of WS. Would you have a pic.

thanks

I just flip the ws down and lock it in with the rubber retainers on the ws. Then wedge the sponge in between the bottom of the ws and the body. If you are worried about it just slide the black retainer bracket up past the plexi and pop off the ws.. If it is in the bed and flipped down the most of it is behind the roof of the truck so it doesn't see a lot of wind..

If you don't have the retainers on the bottom of the ws just run a bungee around the upper and lower to hold them together..
