Default Hauling Lifted carts in the bed of a pickup?

I was thinking of putting a rear seat on the back of my lifted Club Precedent

I have a 2005 Ford F250 4x4, so the pickup truck is raised higher due to it being 4x4

Someone told me today, they don't advise hauling a golf cart around
( example to the camp grounds when we go camping in our travel trailer )
because the cart becomes to unstable to load lifted, and I would have to remove the tail gate from the truck, as I couldn't tow with the tailgate down, it would hit the camper in turns

I can't tow another trailer behind the camper ( Florida State Law )

Any suggestions?

I'm looking into truck with 8' beds, but their hard to find in a Crew Cab King Ranch or Lariat

You should be fine with the F250. My half ton chevy does not appreciate my club car in the back at all.

I hauled mine in my 13 Ram CC 4x4 with the 5'7" box - 98 CC DS with a 6" lift & 23's - No problems but I have not hooked my boat up yet to see the clearance.

Thanks. I haven't figured out the length yet. They only way I can pull the camper is to remove the tailgate, but if I remember, half the rear tires or all of it sit on the tailgate

I also have to see how the F250 will handle 1,000lbs in the rear, with a 9,000lb camper that's 36' long

I'm looking at trucks now with a 8' bed. But their hard to find with a crew cab

Put airbags on the rear of the truck an then get a hitch exstention that will put the hitch out about 2 ft
Air bags will add 5000 lbs more carry capacity

I would not haul a golf cart in a six foot bed without removing the cables and using a solid bar. I don't trust the cables to hold with the rear tires of GC sitting on tail gate .

Something like this : http://dgmtailgatesupport.com/home

fltekdiver, Not sure about the length of your clubbie but my lifted TXT EZ fits in the bed(short) of my 05 F250 4X4 crew cab with no tailgate. Center of the rear axle is just in front of the end of the bed so all the weight is in the bed. I haul a 33 ft TT that is roughly 10500 loaded with 1200lb of tongue weight. With torsion bars she strolls with no problems.. Mine would not work before I lifted the cart because the rear seat step would have hit the jack and propane bottles.. If yours won't fit length wise we did build a platform for my buddies dodge. 3/4 sheet of plywood in the bed that extended as far as he needed and then used 2 X 6 spacers between it and the top of the rear bumper. Sheet is strapped in, drive the cart into the "new" bed and strap it down..

As a note, I always remove the tailgate on mine before loading.. We had one fail years ago with 3 of our big butts sitting on one at a big party event. One of the straps let go and we went to the ground in a heap.. Wasn't pretty and spilled my beer..

My cart fits in my Chevy 8' bed with the tailgate closed but I had to modify the rear foot rest to fold up. Even with a 6" lift the tailgate still hits the floorboard...fits now with floorboard folded up. I tow a 35' 9,000-10,000 lb camper plus the golf cart...Rolls along just fine down the highway.
