Default Brake cable replacement after installing lift

I installed a 6" lift and the cables aren't long enough to route through the cable clips. It seems to me like it would be OK just not to use the clips. Just wondering what others are doing? Buying longer cables or bypassing the clips?

I have mine just running low. Looks kind of funny but works. There is a thread where they switch the hubs to opposite side of cart and that puts the bracket on the top. I am thinking I will do it but haven't gotten around to it yet. Also like you said, longer cables are an option.

My biggest concern would be if I go off-roading where something could catch the cable but at the moment, don't think this would be an issue. Between reversing brake sides or going with a longer cable, I'd opt for the longer cable and keep the other stuff intact.

They are reaching but I had to remove from the clip that was underneath the spring hanger. Don't know if it's the original cables or how long the OEM cables were from the factory.

BTW, I finally got the lift installed but haven't made the final adjustments yet. Figure on waiting until I get the new tires/wheels to do that.

On both of my DS's, the cable hangers went in the trash!
Yep, the cables seem to hang fairly low, and you'd "think" something might catch on them,
But to be honest? I've taken my gasser through some pretty grown out woods, (crawling over fallen branches and small logs) and never really worried about it!
now, granted... I've taken a few branches home with me, but they were usually stuck in the front lift area!

Just my experience!

Lockman, I think I'll do what you did, throw the clips away and let them hang, I don't plan on off-roading anyway. If they rip off, I'll deal with it then. Thanks,..

Yeeeeeahhh.... this is your first cart, isn't it?

It's o.k., I never thought I'd off road with my cart either!
(until... I just had to see what it could do!)

You'll see!
