Extended Tie Rods
I have my Yamaha G2 lifted on a double bracket lift and the tie rods are too short, there by causing my wheels to be toed out
I've been searching the interwebs but I didnt find anything. does anyone sell just the tie rod in a longer length? Right now it's 8.5" and i'd need it to be 9.5" that measurement is on just the actual "threaded sleeve" in the middle not from end to end |

Re: Extended Tie Rods
I did mine, there is a pipe (black pipe for plumbing) maybe 1/2" that fits over the tie rod pretty well. I cut the rod and used the pipe to make it longer, then welded it. I figure since the pipe is larger its stronger, and that pipe is something like 1/8" wall thickness. Never had a problem with it and I used to drive over bare RR tracks with it, and other odd things.

Re: Extended Tie Rods
I was thinking about cutting and welding in a section.
I'll check out the McMaster site, if they have something affordable then i'll order it. But i like the idea of the black pipe. Thanks Sho! |

Re: Extended Tie Rods
I cut mine and welded in a piece of steel rod. I just turned the end down so it would fit inside of the original on both ends and welded them.
That's a lot of lift on that cart, lets see more pictures! |
