Default Budget lift help on my 90 Marathon 2cycle

Ok guys here's my game plan. I have a super nice 90 marathon 2 cycle. It has a nice comet aftermarket clutch. I want to lift on a tight budget. Cart usage will be neighborhood cruiser maybe light trail use but nothing major. Before I get started with options. I don't weld so any recommendations please keep that in mind.

I was considering the 4" budget lift. Seems cheap and easy enough.
Then I like the idea that I read with 4" lift coil Springs and shock replacement in the rear, but that doesn't help my front with out welding. I also would like to extend front end. So...

What about 4" Lift blocks front and rear and upgrading the front springs with txt front leafs. Any other mods needed for that? Or do I do the spring/shock kit for rear the budget blocks for the front and order 4" longer shock for front. Thanks.

I did the longer springs/shocks on the rear and would recommend it. My front end has the 4" lift blocks, and they work OK, but I'm looking to do something different.

Here's the thread I got the ideas from

TQC, I really like the idea of the springs and shocks. I hate to buy a block set and only use two but so be it. If you get the replacement 4" longer front shocks for front do you still have to put the extended shock extensions on?

I would think longer shocks would make the extensions unnecessary...

Wonder if you could find just the front blocks somewhere, and not have buy the whole kit?

That would be great because I would rather replace the tired factory Springs and shocks and just have the front blocks. Anybody have a set that's not being used with hardware?

If you're not gonna run a back seat or haul loads, you might look at going w/ 250# springs on the rear... The 275# are just a little stiff, but I like them.

Well the possibility of upgrading down the road with a bed or rear seat I'd settle for the stiff ride. Do you have any pics of yours? I'd really like to leave the factory 8" wheel and beef up to a 20 or 22" tire.

Factory wheels, 22" tires... It's a little different , because I stretched the swing arm when I put in a 14 hp kohler.,.

There's about 5" at the closest point

There is some paint rubbed off the frame rail, but it was like that when I got it. Probably from before they lifted it
