Default Drop axle or spindle lift for ezgo txt?

I need to lift my cart. Not interested in long travel kit due to cost. I will be mounting a snow plow on cart. I noticed on eBay some of the drop axle lifts loose ground clearance due to tie rod. And seen some where the tie rod is mounted higher. If I go with drop axle mount I would deff need tie rod mounted higher due to it interfering with the plow travel. That being said what lift is better? Drop axle or spindle lift? And what brands to stay away from? Thanks.

I think they are both fine, but for weight bearing would go with drop axle....

Depending on the year but if it's a 2001.5 or newer I like the All Sports dropped axle (just me), it comes
with spindles that have taller arms, no need for those spindle arm extensions, also easier to install.

I think what you're seeing with the hanging tierod is someone that put it together wrong, with the tierod ends
installed up through the spindle arms instead of down through the arms, does make a big difference.

Agreed. I installed a 5" all sports drop axle lift with the new spindles on my 03 txt and really like it. Quality built kit.

Where do you get the those spindle arm extensions? Cause I purchased jakes drop axle and it hangs really low passed axle like I was worried about in this thread.

On a 2001.5 up you just have that strap iron riser on the one spindle, sorry for
the confusion, the 2001.5 down has the extensions on both spindle arms.

and what I have read here there is no way to put the tierod
in from the top on the jake's lift.

Depending on how you use your cart I guess, the weak point is the axle being a U channel rather than boxed, I have seen a few that bent on stock carts when they hit something with a wheel and with the extra leverage with a dropped spindle it's even more venerable, Also the one I tried had a turning radius that was less than desirable.

That being said I know a lot of guys like and use them, they are easier to install.
