Just finished (well pretty close anyway) my 02 CC DS Hunting buggy
Started out w/ a Plain Jane 02 DS 48V w/ New Trojan T-875
Jakes 6in AA Arm Lift Kit, ITP mud-Lites 11x10-22 Rear 8x10-22 Front Re-Wired entire Cart to 2GA FSIP 700Amp Controller HD F&R and Solenoid Front Carry Rack. 48V-12V Converter to run LED's and 12V charging station under Dash Haven't installed the 22in Cree LED light bar yet trying to figure out how to mount it to the Front Rack. Recovered the seats w/ Camo Cordura (I know it doesn't match) Paint Job via...Redleg Natural Camo Stencils Gun rack (little wobbly) I'm trying to figure out how to Sturdy it up. Maybe another Plate underneath the floor to give it more back bone. Also have my new Plum Quick High Torque motor outside my door ready to install next weekend. Also have gotten my Flexy Flares and will install them also. Dang that thing can sling some mud... I bought the hitch receiver and the ATV carrier from Harbor freight but it is WAY to flexible.. afraid it would bend the frame just driving down the roads. need to figure a way to beef that up. Please leave any suggestions you might have for this. Like to give a shout out to Scotty B. for his help and also to Dave (I know he's on here somewhere) at Kenco in Nacogdoches TX (where I bought the cart) for pointing out that the "firewall" I bypassed when I re-wired the cart is actually the OBC and it doesn't charge real well when you do that. |

Great paint job! I Google'd your stencil and thought they were a great idea. What type of paint did you use on the cart body? Any issues with it sticking?

Bud, Actually those are the Wires that I ran for the LED Light bar that is not installed yet.. they will be connected with a quick Disconnect in case I need to take the basket off. That is a PVC fitting I screwed into the fender to route the wires.
CM, I will get you the types of paint.. I used Rattle can stuff.. don't remember the actual brands/colors at the moment.. w/ about 4 coats of Flat Clear over the top of it... seems to stick pretty well... |

It looks like it's come a long way from where you started.

Freebo, I have a very similar cart set up about the same way. I put an atv rack on the back of mine. I also have a receiver hitch cargo rack that I put on during hunting season. I use ratchet straps from the atv rack to the cargo rack for extra support. I also made a front bumper out of some 4x3 angle to attach a ball on front so I can move my trailer around since I have the cargo rack on back.

Evidently I don't know how to attach more than one pic. Your cart looks cool. I know you'll enjoy it. BTW I beefed up the rear bumper with some 1 1/4 angle when attaching the receiver hitch.

Thanks Dirtpit, I had thought about the strap idea and am going to use it if necessary. I will just leave the rack down in the woods until I need it.. I will look at beefing it up after the season.

It looks like you had the same size tires on all four corners from one of your pictures. In another picture (and your build list) you actually have smaller tires on the front.
What advantage is there with the smaller tires, more travel? or something else. |
