Default single or double

i have a yamaha g2 with a single a arm suspension setup on my cart, its lower banshee a arms and shocks, will i get more suspension travel if i convert it to a double a arm setup?

maybe- if it is designed correctly. search on suspension

so the suspension travel is more directed to the type of shock, here is a pic of my setup

You can gain more travel by using a longer shock but then your camber will be all screwed up. Your pretty much stuck with what you have unless you start fabbin.

You could move the top shock mount upward and install a longer shock.

thats what i was thinking but what shock would you recommend? i dont want to go with anthing expensive since this is just a mild trail rig nothing extreme, i just hate how the ride is so rough and on uneven terrain it tosses you from side to side even at low speeds

That pic shows a cart with factory yamaha A-arms,
You can get as much travel with single as with double but with single the tires will eventually touch under the cart.
What kind of travel are you looking for?
