Default EZ Go with 4 wheeler running gear???

I am in the process of building a EZ GO and using all of the running gear from a 2004 Yamaha 660 4 wheel drive 4 wheeler, I want to use all of the suspension, engine, disc brakes, etc. It is water cooled and 4 stroke with a variable belt drive, reverse, park, and has electric activated 4 wheel drive. I had an ez go that I installed a Yamaha 2 stroke snowmobile engine in but it was VERY ILL handling and didn't do very well at slow speeds because of the two stroke, plus it was loud. I want to be able to poke along through the trails at slow speed and not wake the dead or smoke em out with bean oil, and have the indipendent suspension and good brakes for high speeds. Anyone that has built a cart like this please forward any input from your project. I may be in over my head. Thanks

In my opinion this is a very difficult project to complete and have it run well... a job for an expert fabricator......If you doubt your ability to complete the project then you may well be biting off more than you can chew...the end result will be one ruined quad and one ruined ezgo.I see these unfinished projects on Craigslist all the time...You may be better off just buying a rhino. Please don't take this wrong I am only trying to help.

I'm not saying it can't be done .... I'm just saying that I have seen a lot of these that couldn't get finished
In your estimation, Todd, what is the skill/experience level needed to complete a project like this? 1-10 ...

Scotty, I agree 100% with what your saying, I thought about the Rhino but I really want the Golf cart layout as far as seating, easy in and out, plus anyone can go buy a Rhino, I bought the 4 wheeler wrecked and the EZ Go was just a chassis and body, so here goes nothing.

GO FOR IT!!!! You will get great satisfaction from building it yourself. I beleive you can do it. Time, creativity, determination and alot of beer will get you to finish. (Well thats what helped me.) Post alot of pics! Also one guy said that you could have a rhino or some other utv in the "man cave" and its normal. But a built golf cart, and you will be the talk of the town!!!! Especially with it being 4x4!! Good luck!!
