D&D torque motor speeds
Just installed my my new vented D&D torque motor (es-9j-50r) and the new alltrax xct 500 on my club car ds iq pushing 30" tires, I'm running around 24mph top speed, just curious what others are running?

Re: D&D torque motor speeds
Speed and torque are in constant trade off in an electrical motor. If the cart has very tall tires the motor will have to produce additional torque to compensate. The ability to produce the torque needed will reduce the top rpms. Sounds like you got a good mix of the two, speed and torque.

Re: D&D torque motor speeds
Yea, alltrax made me 3 different maps to load and try, I found this one the best of both, the other map gave me 27mph and less torque, and the last map 20mph and a ton of torque, so I left it on the 2nd map with good torque and 24mph speed, I contacted D&D and gave him my field/armature current readings at full throttle and he said they were fine, but the map that produced 27mph was a little high for armature current on his motor

Re: D&D torque motor speeds
Scotty can you post a pic of that cart? Does it have a lift?
I'm looking for pics of a lifted cart on 20" off roads that I can positively know what I'm looking at |

Re: D&D torque motor speeds
I'm getting 22-24mph on a D&D ES-58 motor. 22" tires and 6" lift with all the torque I need. I need to do Tahoedawg's break flip to release some tension I've notice since doing the lift. I bet I gain a little more speed with that.
