Want to make a roll bar
Hi all, sorry for the spelling in the subject line, should be ROLL. I am new to the cart world. Have had my Yamaha G19 for about six months or so. I lifted it and put wheels tires and all the usual stuff on it. I want to build a roll cage for it. I can use our pipe bender at work and we have tubing of verious sizes in stock.
Does anyone have any pics of a cage I can take a look at? I would like to get some tips and ideas before I start this project. After the cage is done I want to paint it. Pap Last edited by pap; 01-17-2009 at 04:58 PM.. Reason: mispelled word |

Re: Want to make a rool bar
Here is the top I made. I used 1"1/8 tubing and the tubing bender that I built. It's not a roll bar but a tube top.
Hope this helps. Jimbo |

Re: Want to make a roll bar
WOW... nice work guys. Bigred, looks like you used a tubing notcher on your cross bars, I don't have one so I will have to come up with a way to do that. The pics help alot. I am going to mount the front end to the floor, not sure about the rear yet. I am going to measure things today and see what I come up with.
I never posted pics before but I will take some and see if I can do it. I know everyone is big on pics, me to. I will let you know how it goes. Thanks for the replies and pics. Pap |

A bimetal hole-saw the same size as the pipe will make clean notches

Re: Want to make a roll bar
harbor freight makes a cheap notcher that seems to do a pretty good job. it uses hole saws and your own drill or drill press. I have one and it seems to do a fair job. granted it is not a high dollar unit, but for the price it is ok. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=42324
