G1 Drivers Lean
I have been searching through the forum threads referencing cart lean and most likely will just make different/longer shock mounts. But I would appreciate any input just in case I overlooked a better solution. '81 G1 driver side 1/2" lean. I do have a 6" shop built lift. Swapped stock shocks. No change. Aftermarket shocks . No change. Same tire pressure. I did measure from the garage floor to the bottom of the front shock mount on both sides and driver side is off almost 1/2". The lean is consistent from the front to the back of the driver's side. No visible frame twist but my opinion, something is bent. Something simple I overlooking? Would the 1/2" difference in the front also affect the back. Hoping it's not 2 issues in 2 places. Are cart shocks angled in for reason or would it be ok to extend top mounts outward so the shocks are straight up and down? Don't have a "show cart" but would rather hide any changes. Thanks.

Check where the swing arm mounts to the frame at the front of the cradle.
Maybe something is tweaked there?? I've had my Jakes 6" lift on top of a pachanga lift that gets me to 12" of lift, and I don't have this issue. I'm with you, something must be bent |

Re: G1 Drivers Lean
Sounds like somethings bent. It's often tough to find. Body shops sometimes need lasers etc to find. I had a Mustang that had a 3" gap on the drivers wheel well, and a 1" gap on the passenger wheel well. Shop had to mount it to a jig and use lasers to find the tweak. Pretty cool, but cost quite a bid. Prob not ideal for a golf cart, although it could be done.
You might have to strip it down and sit it on a known level surface and start taking measurements. If you can't find something obvious, there might not be any other way. |

Re: G1 Drivers Lean
Danman will take a look @ that in the morning. Thx for the input. Will start there. Never heard of having to use lasers to level but no doubt would show it. As far as the springs, they may be worn out. But I purchased some aftermarket just the other day thinking the same thing. Still leans. Will also try similar slonomo suggestion. Put 4 jacks under frame, take off wheels and see if anything is hanging different and also see if there is any movement by slightly rocking cart. If I could honestly do something by moving upper shock mounts in the interim, I would do that. My 8 yr. old is ready to ride and he has been patiently waiting for a couple of months. Would moving/making upper shock mounts longer make up the difference? So the shocks should stay decently close to "correct" angle. Have welder. Going to post some pics in a few. Thanks all for the help.

Actually it looks closer to 1/4". Although it doesn't sound like much, it is very obvious.
