Tires and opinions
I'm planning on picking up a lift, Plowmans performance clutch kit and some wheels and tires this weekend. I've talked to a few local cart guys about the different a/t tires that are available and some are cool with pretty much anything and others have warned against any of the Wanda-type Chinese produced tires stating that they have seen issues with out of round and a couple other complaints.
Does anyone on here have any horror stories about any brands other than Duro or ITP? I've played around with quads for the last 20 years and never had any issues with anything other than some flat-spotting on some 589's due to sitting too long, but nothing that didn't work itself out with a short ride or a tire pressure adjustment. I'll be grabbing a set of 22's and mounting them on 10's if that makes any difference. Nothing too aggressive, but decent for some trail riding and occasional street use. Any tips from you pros? Horror stories and recommendations would be appreciated. |

Re: Tires and opinions
I like the more aggressive tread and sold on GBC Dirt Devils. Heard stories about tearing up grass
but I run allot on grass and never had that trouble. I've tried the Duro type tread but they are hard to clean, pick up gravel and if you run in mud leave little turds around.. Just my opinion. |

Re: Tires and opinions
The china tires can be out of round. There is a huge cart dealer near me that has their own tires made with knock off tread of those population AT tires. Everyone makes them it has the chevron in middle and Dimondish things on sides. Anyway I got one out of the set that walloped. They were good and replaced it but in the return process they said they had blems that had that issue or just leaked so they tubed them. I bought a whole set of them cause they were half price e!! Hahaha

Re: Tires and opinions
Yea the drive sucks. My trip to the dealer to replace that initial on was an hour one way. It's not a huge percent that are bad they said. Just one here n there. They were great swapped it out. Others ran perfect.
The "blems" I have now some are out of round. It's not terrible at like 23mph. Actually worse around like 15. But really not bad. For what I paid I am not complaining! ! Plus I will ride some off road at farm, slow so it won't matter at all there. Road wife and little boy yesterday for first time since all work and tires and control etc. Was not bad |

Re: Tires and opinions
The local dealer had a set of Kenda Terra Tracks on wheels that were brand new take-offs. I've ran Kendas for years on my quads and always had great luck with those so I should be good to go. Next step is the clutch work and lift. Picking those up from Plowmans tomorrow.

Re: Tires and opinions
I bought a set of Kenda Speed Racers for stock 8" rims. They are actually ATV tires, 19" diameter. Inflated to 28 or so psi, they are more like 20.5-21" and ride great. I'm on pavement most of the time, with some grass and sand. The traction has been good, even in light mud and plowing snow.
