The only thing I don't like about the Jake's is the shocks. I've never added an A Arm to a Yamaha, only EZGO and Club Cars...

We use both. For EZGO's it all depends what steering system the cart has. We'll use the Strech A Arm on all carts with the old style steering (which includes current ST models). New style steering vehicles (2001 and up TXT and ST Express) gets the Jakes, with a modified shock tower and Progressive coil over shocks.

There are more kits out there, but I have never tried them...

I also like the strech kits myself. The Jakes arnt bad either.

But seeing that your doing a g2, the only bolt on long travel is from Jakes. You would need to mod a strech kit to fit it. Im pretty sure strech doesnt make a kit for the g2

I did a jakes g9/g2 long travel on my black widow project that im still working on. The kit seems to be well made, but i just wish they had included all new bolts with the kit.

on pg 3 you can see what the front looks like

actualy i just post the pics.

I jumped around on the cart after i installed it, and it should give a super smooth ride i just cant wait to get it done now.. Darn cold!

i have some more pics if you want them.. just ask

How much trouble is it to adjust the height? I was thinking of putting one on for street use and setting about 4" and later on putting bigger tires for off road look and raising up to the 8' or so.

I would say that adjusting the height is easy. You just need to unbolt the one bolt on the top of the shock, and place it into whatever hole you need for height 4-8", once the cowl is on, it should still be easily accesable.
Stiffining the shock is easy to, the kit includes a tool to ratchet the bottom of the shock to make them stiffer,
My only other beef is that the rear is not adjustable. Your stuck at 6". but a slight mod could fix that.

You could put the chrome jakes shocks on the rear, then put some better progressive brand shocks on the front.
Give you a bit more adjustability. or vise versa, put some adjustable height shocks on the rear to give you rear height adjustment

Like mike said, the progressive shocks are good shocks.!

Just move the shocks (and then set the tow in)

The rear lift adjustment is when you'll have the issues???

Good point Monster on the G2 - I didn't see that. I don't think that there is a Strech kit for a G2...

I hear Terra makes a good lift, rumor has it that Stretch materials are being outsourced? Only what I heard, those of you in the "know" can probably shed light on this. Don't rule out the Allsports LT, it is a bolt on and very stought...all American made. My 1/2 cent!
