How much water and mud is too much
I've got a 2010 electric RXV I take off road almost daily. Most of the time its dry and everything is fine. when its muddy, how much mud and water is too much? I'm not talking about getting stuck, I'm more talking about what is bad for the cart?

Re: How much water and mud is too much
I definitely wouldn't go through something that might bury my motor or soak my controller, but as long as you clean all the mud off afterwards and try to dry the electronics off as best as possible (low pressure compressed air will work), you should be fine.

Re: How much water and mud is too much
I was always curious about this myself. I have seen many pictures of people tearing it up on the beach, lake, etc. looks like fun but can't be good.

Re: How much water and mud is too much
I drove a txt lifted 7 inches with 22s in enough water to cover the floor boards a couple inches. Multiple times over 4 or 5 years during deer season.
Rusted up the brake system. But not to an unusable state. Did rust the splines where the hub and axle met. Had to replace one because it spun. I sold the cart for Cheap. I will not treat my new one that way. |

Re: How much water and mud is too much
I’m looking to build an off road cart for a duck club. Lifted and mud tires. Most of the roads to the blinds are hard pack clay dirt and gravel mix. When wet there are several muddy areas up to 6” deep and 20’ long. Would a cart make it through without getting stuck?

Re: How much water and mud is too much
Depends on the cart and what mods it has. Mine i could stop in the middle and start again with no problem

Re: How much water and mud is too much
One thing to consider is where your controller [and reverse if series] is located. If the controller is mounted in the breeze over the rear wheels and is not protected, water and mud spray over time can cause issues. Also wiring that is not properly done, sealed and tied off snugly could come back to haunt you.

One of the best add on for mud was a limited slip rear end.

6" deep as in the mud is 6" deep or the water? If just water and a hard bottom, you will be fine. If mud, I'd go with something else. Duck hunting always means four wheeler to me, but maybe that's just me.
