EZGO Txt Gas Tire Size

Morning Guys,

First off, I have used BGW from the start for all carts questions and needs. Thank you!

I have just about finished my first cart build...

But I do have a question that I could not find a answer too.

On these gas txt with robin 9 hp, I already could use a little more low end torque. The shorter belt did help out. But if I do a 28 degree driven clutch will that be enough if I choose to run 24 or 25 inch tires on this cart.

I thinking I need to stick to 23's but, I love the look of 25s on a txt I just don't want to shoot myself in the foot throwing big tires on it that it cannot turn!

any body have experience with a gas txt running over 23 inch tires with clutch work done???

What I have done

2001 Ezgo Txt Gas, 9Hp Robin. White.

First mods- 2 stroke belt , new carb, fuel lines, wiring, all new from the steering box down . tie rods, rod ends , spindles ,bearing, shock extenders

Got all the loose ends tied up first, got the thing running good and everything working as it should

Now for the lift....

To get the front end up , I used a Ezgo st 350 factory front axle, combined with jakes st 350 front leveling kit. I placed the Leaf on top the axle instead of under the axle. The rear of the front factory springs mounts are in the original location and how not been lowered......yet

From my measurements , this netted me right around 9 inches of lift so far

The rear , I removed the original flipped iso mounts and used about a 1 1/4 rear block from ez go with new u bolts and spring perches, and remounted brake lines

That got the rear up and didn't leave me with the nose down look

Biggest challenge was creating clearance between both passenger and driver tie rods and the leaf springs during articulation , this was achieved by using Billet spacers with studs tapped in them from Jakes. These could be made locally if you know someone in the machining world...cheaper too

Love the light bar. What size is it, and how is it mounted?

If you have any hills the cart will loose 30% torque on 23s and more loss on bigger tires. The stock 9 hp motor won't cut it in my opinion.
I ended up putting a 25hp engine and 25s on mine = good combination.

The front is a 22 Inch, if you remove the valance below the hood, use the two bolts and nuts which you removed to attach the brackets for the lights. Its that simply.

I also ran two square leds on the rear top , you see them?

I have it on the rollers now, 22" old bald sahari's and steelies

When i purchase tires and wheels , looking at going minimum 23".

From the sounds of it i should stick to 23's

No, I could pay you to ship them! Mine has Saharas, but the front is 8" and the rear is 10" for some odd reason.
