Default Wheel Spacer Opinions

As this project gets close to rolling am thinking it may need a wider footprint for safety. It has a 6" Jakes A-arm that's been taken up another 2-3", mostly stock engine, will get a lightweight "roll" bar to hang accessories on. The 10" rims already have a 2" offset on 22" tires. Off road, mostly lower speed use but do have teenagers that will use it. The wheel stud extensions are cheaper and I thinking 3" total will be enough, but have no experience with any of this.....So
Is spacing necessary?
Back only or front and rear?
Stud spacers or full hub?
Total width?
Any and all opinions are appreciated, as always

Thanks!!!

The wider the better for stability. I would do the front and rear. I think the solid spacer is the better choice, it is stronger.

It's safer to widen the wheelbase when you lift a cart. I use the lug extender on my cart that has the cast aluminum wheels, I will not use them with steel wheel. The steel wheels flex and I believe there's more of a chance for it to developer cracks around the lugs. The aluminum wheels won't flex so there's no chance of that happening. As for the lug extender being strong enough, they are. I've run them for years. They have more contact surface area on the hub than my ITP wheels do. Here's a pic of one time wheelie king, Hipshot on his wheelie popin electric beast. Yes those are lug extenders it's standing on, i've done this with my workhorse with to much of a load in the bed. I think the solid spacers are better but with the right wheels the lug extenders work great.

Thanks for the quick replies guys. Decision made, now the proud owner of 4 new 2" billet spacers from E-Bay thanks Max). Would have gone with the lug extenders but Jon's comments on the steel wheel (that I have) flex changed my mind. Besides, my kids are already on a first name basis with most ER docs, so the price difference is relatively small for any added safety measures!!

You made the right choice. I wonder how much you can feel the difference with the cart at 4 inches wider??
I'm sure you'll let us know..
