Default ezgo axle lift questions

I am building a hunting cart and it's a series ezgo that already has a axle lift with 22" tires on 10"rims. I'm putting a 650amp controller, new wires, high torque motor, converting to 48v, and installing heavy duty springs front&back. My question is about tire size 23s or 25s? (12" rims) will 25s rub with axle lift and do you think I would be able to tell any loss in torque? Thanks in advance

I have 22" tire with 12" rims and do feel some loss of torque. The bigger the tire/rim goes the more loss of torque you will experience. My 22s" do not rub and really have not checked the clearance to see how close it is. If it is only going to be a hunting cart you might want to think about a torque motor to really boost it up.

If it's a full axle lift (6") You will be able to run 23's but that's it, 25's will rub in the rear. With some modifications, You can run 25's with a long-travel kit (which for a true offroad cart is something i would HIGHLY recommend) ... As to the power, we redid an older series cart for a customer this spring, we went 550A and converted to 42V, that cart was on 22's and really still showed some struggle with bigger, longer hills, if it were MY cart and I wasn't doing a Long-Travel kit I'd stick with 22's, they're a very practical choice for most applications and of course, the smaller the tire the less torque that will be robbed.
