Rear bouncy things question.
A little advice here guys and gals. Want to finish my rear suspension on my sparky ds tomorrow and want to [try] to get it right the first time. the rear leaves [1] on my buggy are new. And STIFF. I found a part # on a sticker on one of them. 1012394, the 9 I'm not positive about. Are these heavy duty? They are thicker in the middle than at the eyes. Been scouring old threads and found some stories about axle wrap which I am quite familiar with from my street/drag racing days. Have contemplated using my old front spring pack and cutting 2 helpers from them. The cart will be used mostly with me, maybe a passenger [if I ever find her] and at MOST 200 pounds in the box. Do not need the cart to ride so hard she has to hold her boobs, [I know, I know, that's fun to watch too.] but don't want wheel hop or worse with the torque motor that's going under her [the cart]. Also the [sepex] Curtis 1268 500a is already programmed from the supplier to be sporty but not violent if that helps with the reply. Sorry for the long post but I tried to give a clear picture of my situation. Thanks and hope everyone had a good Christmas!

Re: Rear bouncy things question.
Never mind. Weather was conducive to work in the shop tonight and that doesn't happen here often this time of year. Cut my front leafs the same length and mounted them under the rear ones as helpers. Welded the lift blocks to the axle and put it back together. "New" helpers don't touch the mains at the very ends, [3/8' gap] , so shouldn't hurt the ride when empty. Time will tell.

Re: Rear bouncy things question.
Great idea. Hd's do ride harsh. Bought a set up from the bu forum years ago that uses lighter springs and air shocks to help when carrying a load. I carry firewood and the occasional deer in mine so I've delt with the ride. Sounds like your on the right track. Mike
