Homemade back lift on 1988 club ca
I'm wondering if anyone buy chance has ever made the rear lift for a 88 club car? I need to make a 5" lift for it. I'm guessing it's just a plain block lift since it's leaf springs

Cool. If you don't want to work with metal, why not make a pair of lift blocks out of hardwood? White Elm would be my first choice [doesn't split] but Oak will work too. You can make it so the U bolts go through it or not it is up to you.

Please don't use wood for lift blocks!
Any Tractor Supply (or equivalent) store will have axle perches, and U bolts that will cheaply resolve your dilemma! .02 |

Why not? Do you know how many tons it takes to crush good hardwood? I doubt the axle will stand it. We have a flat rack on a 6 wheel wagon gear and the sills are Ash. Now there is slightly more surface area where they sit on the axles but we load over 14 tons on it and haven't damaged it yet.

Because PEOPLE will be riding on the trailer....
No matter the type of wood, something may eventually happen, and injuries will occur... Straight up? I just don't agree with you! |

Re: Homemade back lift on 1988 club ca
Just went out to the shop to see if I still had the block I cut one time to straighten an 1 1/2" hydraulic cylinder rod in our shop press. Sorry could not find it, but it stood over 20 tons to straighten to shaft. Tractor supply perches would be ready made though and even easier. Since the question was asked in the first place, I assumed that his location might be remote and not have these types of stores handy.
