23" tire recommendations or does it matter
Fixing to order up some 23" and 14" wheels.. Notice there is about a half dozen different tire options. Anyone worth spending more than the other, gonna be running dirt roads, will never see pavement. Efx hammer or Sahara look pretty good. Opinions?

Hope your dirt roads are as smooth as paved with that combination.

I went with 23x12 so there's more sidewall flex which creates a softer ride.

I figure as stiff as the ride is now with a 6" lift can't be much worse

Re: 23" tire recommendations or does it matter
I just went with a tread I like that was available in the size I wanted. Having said that, I went with 23x10-12 Rhox Duro Fuse. Haven't had them on but a few days but they dig well in the mud and look pretty bad ***. I figured at 25mph tops, tire composition/construction won't ever really come into play. YMMV.

Re: 23" tire recommendations or does it matter
Why 14s? If you are on dirt/gravel/crushed stone the ideal size of rims is 10 or some would say 8s . The sidewall is your first suspension and does the most of all the components to keep the rubber in contact with terra firma [or as close to firma as possible. That's why real race cars and trucks run tires with a decent sidewall. Also protects the rim from breaking if you hit something not intended. It also reduces shocks and vibration on the cart and your fillings too. These carts as they come or with lift kits, don't have 1000$ suspension to held deal with this as they were designed for soft lawns and paved paths. Just something to keep in mind when shopping.

I was just thinking 14s because of the looks, but if the ride that bad, going to go 12s.

Re: 23" tire recommendations or does it matter
If you were blindfolded and rode a cart with 12 or 14 rims I don't think that you could tell the difference.
The suspension is the biggest thing to help ride and I think over half of all lifts are the economy style. I have 14 and they look great in my opinion I also had 8 inch stockers with a 21inch tire and it rode the same. If you're a true off road driver, suspension is where it's at for a smooth ride, not tires or wheels. P.S. I almost barf when I see 23 inch tires on a 8 inch wheel |
