Trying to add ground clearance
Will a 20" tire on 8" rims add the same amount of lift as a 20" tire on a 10" rim?

Re: Trying to add ground clearance
Rim size wont matter for ground clearance just the tire size a 20" tire with an 8" rim will be the same height as a 20" tire with a 10" rim.

Re: Trying to add ground clearance
Yes, there is no difference due to the fact that the outside diameter remains the same. Therefore, the center of either wheel does not move higher or lower, about 10 " to middle (half the outside diameter). The only thing that changes would be the amount of "sidewall" that the tire has.
There would be more sidewall on an 8" rim versus the 10"....about 1" more all around. |
