Lift spindle question-2002 TXT
Ok, I have a couple of questions and concerns before I order anything.
Couple pieces of info about this project to help: 2002 TXT Gasser I load it in the bed of my truck anytime I haul it, which is pretty often, sometimes I'll leavr it in there for golf the next day. Use is 95% golf, 5% camping and running down to the local brewpub, so a bigger lift isn't needed for me. And, I'm really only lifting it at all for appearance. Ego, if you will. That being said, here are my questions: With a set of 12" wheels, and what are listed as 21.5X8.5-12 tires, I'm thinking it shouldn't widen the track too much with those alone, correct? And still getting me around an 1 1/2 or so of clearance, just from the tires if my research is right. While, a 4" axle drop kit not only widens the track, but also lengthens the wheelbase, and even more with the 5" axle drop? My biggest concern is making 100% sure it'll still load in the truck, so every inch counts. That's about it, sorry it was such a long post, but I figured I'd give as much info as I could. Thanks guys in advance! |

Re: Lift spindle question-2002 TXT
It looks like the tires you listed are only .5 inch wider than stock. The other important factor is offset. The stock wheel is 7 inches. the offset is 3x4 meaning 3 inches of the wheel is inside the mount surface and 4 inches is on the outside.
A 2x5 wheel would move the wheel out an additional inch. http://www.pureoffroad.com/atv_wheel_offset_guide.htm |

Re: Lift spindle question-2002 TXT
Thanks man. Appreciate that guide. The wheels in the pics LOOK like they have more offset to the inside, but until I get a hold of the company, I wont know for sure.
Are my ideas correct about the additional width and length with a 4" axle drop vs. the 3" spindle route? |
