Default Any aftermarket steering wheels using turn signals?

I wasn't sure if to post this here or the "on road" section.
But I'm pretty sure my town requires brake lights and turn signals on a cart for use in town. This cart had an after market steering wheel installed and it has a chrome tube that turns with the steering wheel. I don't remember the stock steering stem doing this on my old EZGO Marathon because I know I put the turn signal stem onto it with a hose clamp.
Anyone else have any suggestion other than what I can think of...

1.) Cut the chrome tube off and some how mount it to the bottom side so it is stationary?
2.) Or just wire up a couple of push button switches in the dash. And just push them by hand when I feel like I need signals?

I am thinking about cutting a couple of slits in the crome cover, below the dashboard, and using a couple of hose clamps to keep it from moving around then just clamp turn signals to upper chrome cover

Oh yeah, I did cut about 1/4" off of the chrome cover when I installed it so that it didn't rub/turn with the steering wheel

you need a sleeve that fits over the column and is held in place at the base

you then can mount the turn signal lever to the sleeve
you cover it with a wire hider

The only issue with the TecScan unit is the fact the brake lights are only activated by the "inclinometer" when the cart is slowing down.

You will not be able to demonstrate the brake lights work by pressing the brake pedal.

The first one Crash posted was the same as I bought for my old cart. I love the wireless idea. The brake lights won't be much of an issue. I plan to drill a hole in the brake pedal and install a push button there. I'll have to make sure my foot is on the button when it needs to be. LOL!

The police are not very strict around where I live, but I do want to abide by the laws. If they have a requirement I want to meet it.

Hey Monkey,

What part of Southern Indiana do you live?

The one Crash posted is what EZ-GO uses right from the factory on certain carts, including the 2Five

swm63 - I live in a little town called Loogootee about an hour south of Bloomington.

And good news... talked to the city mayor. He said headlights, taillights, and a horn are the only requirements. so I've got those covered. He said turn signals, and brake lights will help others see what I'm doing on the road. But not a requirement.

I'm still going to look into putting them on this cart anyways. I'll take the steering wheel apart tonight and see how that chrome tube is attached. I found a sweet 48inch LED brake/turn strip I'd like to attach to the back roof. My cart has the factory rear lights already.... but everyone likes shiny things!

Installed the Tecscan kit this weekend - Very easy installation and they work great!
