Default 10" x 22" vs 12" x 23" for gravel road riding

I have a 2012 EZGO TXT Gas

Most of my riding is going to be on gravel roads. The current stock tires HAVE TO GO! I'm looking to get at least a little smoother ride.

I'll guess I'll be adding a 5 or 6" lift. I'm seriously considering Jake,s long travel arms, but have little money. I would like to know if just adding a Jake's drop axle and All Terrain 10" x 22" or 12" x 23" could possibly help me enough?

Also any opinion on which size could be the smoother choice.
I'm guessing the taller size should give the smoother ride.

Opinions/options?

Thanks for any insights.

Carts have leafspring suspension which is pretty stiff.... actually like a 50s pick up truck. A tall side wall can be your friend, providing additional give and shock absorption. However it can also allow additional lateral flex which can result in unwanted sway or lean. On my gas cart I love the big soft tires. 25x10x12

I don't think that an extra 1/2 inch in sidewalk is going to make that much difference in ride quality. I run 12x23's and they work great on roads-dirt, gravel or asphalt. Just my opinion!!

I agree with ninja, just keep the tire pressure down to about 8 lbs.. you will love the extra speed with the larger tires over stock.

Scottyb is my hero but it will take a real commitment ($$$$) to get 25s on it.

Thanks to all for the comments.
Since it doesn't seem to be a big difference either way, I ended up taking a deal on some New takeoffs. New 10" 4 spoke aluminum rims with New Kenda TerraTrac 22x11-10 for $390. Everything else I saw was over $550 and up.
Also went with the All Sports 5" drop axle.
Now I have to wait. It will be a week or so before I have a chance to do the install.

Should work well, the larger tires help just because a larger diameter tire will roll over stuff easier. Only thing I have noticed is the rounded tires seem to work better off road while the flat tires work better on road because they wear slower. I mean the rounded ones like atv tires where the center of the tire hits the ground more instead of the whole tread is flat like a car and all hitting the road. They wear faster but the ride is better. Tire pressure is very important, I run 8 in fronts and 12 in rears (more if hauling something), the cart is much heavier in the rear plus it helps it turn better on trails. If you run too soft it slows your cart down a lot especially with stock power. I love huge tires, I would have gone larger had I known then what I know now but 22s are not bad.
