Default Just put a Jake's 4" lift on my Marathon, now have questions.

I finally got around to putting a 4" jake's lift on my Marathon with the suggested 22x11x10 tires. Everything looks great, but the left front tire is rubbing on the fender and tearing off the trim. It's fine going straight but if you turn that direction the tire rubs. I'm not sure if the spring on that side is sagging or exactly what is causing only one side to have issues. The passenger side is close but doesn't rub. So now I'm trying to figure out what options I have to fix it. Spacers look like they could make the problem worse. Another inch of lift might get it to clear. I hate to have to add a couple inch block lift on top of the Jake's drop axle, but I'm not sure what other options I have. I though the Jake's lift was supposed to extend the wheel base 1" forward as well. It doesn't really look like it did that to me. I guess I could cut the fender, but really hate to have to resort to that. Any one have similar issues or an easy way to resolve the problem without going to smaller tires? I really like the way the cart looks now.

Had that problem on a 2012 Precedent after a 3 1/2 madjax lift, and it was a simple front end alignment problem...

Could measure hub center to front of the rocker on both sides and see if its actually square. Could be tweaked just enough that its making it rub or worn springs up front. On a side note, I have been looking for pictures of a marathon with the 4"lift and 22s. So thank you.

How about a 1" block btwn the rear of the front springs and body? I have used 1x2" square tubing about 3" long
with a hole to accept the bolt that goes through the spring, you have to pull the floor mat and use longer bolts.

Also when you have it apart you might want to switch the springs from side to side, seems the drivers side
always sags a little more, from more time with only one person on the cart.

Btw your cart looks great, I love the Medalist and it don't get better than red.

Way back when I built my Marathon I found some heavy duty front springs for it. They gave a little lift and were 1.5" longer. You might check around and see if they are still available.

TXT front springs is what I put on my 93 along with a Jakes 4" dropped axle, it moved the axle forward and give it about 2" lift . And It seams every marathon axle ive looked at , it looks like the driver side is angled back towards the body. I dont know if its all of them but the last 4 Ive looked at were like that. maybe check and see if your axle is straight and not bent??

Draggin is on the right track, swapping to TXT front springs will move your axle about 1.5" forward and will alleviate the problem. That's actually common w the drop-axle Marathon lifts, they are touted as a 4" lift but actually only provide about 3.25", work great with 20's but can rub with wide 22's. BTW, a block lift with a drop axle is a BAD idea, I've seen them fold under due to the increased stress, I'd deep-six that idea RIGHT away.

There are 2 length TXT springs, either should give You the clearance that You need but the 94-2000 (standard, not "Heavy-Duty") will give a slightly better ride as the 2004-up are a bit stiffer

Thanks for the info Brew. I don't seem to be able to find any different length options, do these look like the right ones? A little extra length would be preferred.
