Default Are long travel lifts better REALLY worth it?

I've read and heard that long travel lifts are better for off road and I buy it, but HOW MUCH BETTER is my question. I'll no doubt use my cart harder than a street cart but I also have quads for the "real stuff". My plan is a 6" lift and the options sure seem broader and less expensive if long travel kits aren't in play for me.

Night and DAY, and not just off-road. The difference in ride ALONE makes it worth the $$, along with the wider track and increased stability. Add in the capability to actually *use* the cart off-road (instead of just looking like it with a spindle or axle kit) and a much smoother ride even on pavement. Almost every single time we have a customer take out one of our LT carts for a test ride they invariably go that route, even have had people who the $$ was an issue for do NOTHING to the cart until they could save up for the LT kit - they're THAT much better.

I've had carts with LT front ends and leaf spring rears. They disappoint.
The front end is smooth and leads you to take bumps faster ... the rear still kicks like a mule.
On my custom cart I built a LT rear too, now that is a nice ride.

Now that's a solid answer ! No doubts there.
Thanks

So the only LT kit I see is from Jake's, plus a few A-arm kits. Is the Jake's kit adjustable? Some places have it listed as adjustable from 4 to 6 inches while other vendors do not list this. I'm not sure I want my G29 lifted a whole 6 inches. Thanks.

I found my Jake's a arm lift to be incredibly stiff but after I "tuned" the springs some it rides quite well. No, I don't jump it like an atv/motorcycle but it complies with bumps quite well for what it is. Like atvs, a tire with a decent sidewall helps with small stuff.

I have had my Jakes LT kit for 8 months now and had put it to the test. I previously had the Jakes 6" A-Arm and can unquestionably say its a night and day difference all around. The only con I have is the tight steering and or hard steering of the kit for a G16..Maybe not other Yamaha models but I hope to cure that with modify an rack and pinion steering upgrade.

I run 23x10x11 tires and its smooth and easy ride on pavement and take the hilss and trails excellent.

Has anyone come up with a conversion for the rear suspension? If you dont fix both arent you sorta defeating the purpose of the retro fit for the front?

My question exactly! Seems odd to me that there isn't a solution for the rear end that is as robust as the front. There has to be a reason they don't.
