Default electric for hills

I am negotiating for a 2004 EZGO TXT w/PDS. It is fresh off the course and here is my idea ... I'd like to use this to make the trip from my storage barn up to my shop/house a few times daily. My hill is a 17% grade (15 degree) for about 400' and then "flattens" to about a 10% for another 400' (140' elevation gain overall). It is packed gravel and the only vehicles that usually have issues are light 2WD pickups and FWD Honda cars (light in front?). I would like to stick with the stock controller and motor but I'd also like to install a 5" lift and 22" x 10" wheels and aggressive tires. The local EZGO dealer says just switch it to lowest of 4 modes either using the jumper or a switch. He thinks I'll be happy with that and won't lose much speed off the normal slow on the low setting.
It has '04 Trojan 105 batteries that measure out even across at 76ah.
Think it'll work?
By the way ... some of you have some nice carts!

I would recommend if you are adding larger tires then you first upgrade cables to at least 4 guage or make the dealer throw that in and then get an Alltrax controller a factory controller will not handle what you are looking to do with it on the hills unless the batteries are freshly charged and in great shape.

Thanks for the info ... Do you know the technical reasoning behind going to another controller? This is a PDS unit rated at 300 amps ... I understand the larger tires will take more oomph to turn and am only using them for the advantage of better ground clearance as the road is a two-track with a sometimes substantial center mound. I don't care much about acceleration or top speed ... if I can drive up the hill at about 5 or 6 mph two to four times a day with at least a 1/2 hour charge between uphill trips then I'll be happy. (The dealer will install 6 new Trojan 105s with 4g cables for an additional $400).
