10” lifted club car DS rear shocks?
Anyone know of upgraded rear shocks that work for a Club Car DS with a 10” lift?

Re: 10” lifted club car DS rear shocks?
Are you considering doing the brake cable mod where the cables will attach to the flipped brake backing plates? (Highly recommended!) I did this when I installed my 6 inch lift and I was able to use the factory length rear shocks cause the bottom shock mount attaches to the plate above the axle housing. I'm upgrading to the Monroe 31176 rear shock. Read the sticky in the electric CC section "Allsports Lift Installed My Way" TahoeDawg spells it out with pics.

Did you use an All Sports 10" lift? If so with the rear blocks it came with, just make sure your lower shock plate is on top of the axle and the stock shocks or Monroe 31176 shocks should work as normal. Worse case, you may need shock extenders.

My DS,
Is this what you're looking for? The top mounting brackets remain the same...... |

Re: 10” lifted club car DS rear shocks?
Side note,
I have a friend of mine who is a manager at an AutoZone, I had to go through maybe 6 or 7 pair of shocks before I found the right match, there were many who fit the measurements of what I were looking for. I can't remember which models exactly, but most of them were way too stiff and did not perform the way I wanted them to, through trial and error I came across these particular shocks, they are the softest that I have found to date..... There are advantages to Running these type of shocks, the first thing you notice, is you get about 2 inches extra travel, which means a lot when you're talkin 3 inches travel for stock Factory shocks.... The second thing I notice is when I'm running rough Trails such as washboard, Or whoopty do's, the rear end seems to stay planted better, taking away that bone jarring teeth rattling bounce that you get from running any kind of speed over these trails... I've never been a big fan of Gabriel, Bilstein or Monroe, But these Gabriel's are the ticket to what my cart was needing..... Hope this helps |
