"Pepe" is used to move people around and do work on my lake property. That clay basket is used all the time. From hauling beer (and people) down to the lake, to tools for the garden, to chainsaws and come-a-longs to remove trees, bird seed for the feeders, to bags of mulch for the shrubs. Very handy item. Only complaint is it is poorly designed and rattles. I'll fix that this summer by supporting the end of it on the brush guard with the help of the local welder and some design work.

My cart is street legal, so I use it to bring stuff home from the grocery store a few blocks away. We are in four or five parades each year, so it holds a cooler. It carries a couple of yoga mats when we're too lazy to walk to the studio. Basically it holds anything too big to fit in the glove box.

Rather than waiting to see if I would need it, when I built the cart I got the clays basket right from the start, and it has been really useful.

Yeah I really did think it would be useful when people come over to hang out (lake community but I donít live on the lake)

With just me the wife and the two boys we usually just sit in the front row and we would have the whole rear flip flop seat for gear when going to the beach. The problem comes when another couple comes over and I usually just make two trips. One with most of the people and another with the cooler and whoever is left.

Ended up using black silicone to adhere a rubber mat in mine, leaving the edges open to drain water. great working tray for holding tools, nuts, bolts... or ammo/ mags and the like when out shooting...

Enlighten me to the obvias please, is clays golf related? Clay pidgones? I haul anything I can fit in it, prefer to put more valuable things up front to keep an eye on it verses dropping off the back.
?

"Sporting clays is a form of clay pigeon shooting, often described as "golf with a shotgun" because a typical course includes from 10 to 15 different shooting stations laid out over natural terrain. For safety, the course size is often no smaller than 35 acres"

You use the basket to haul boxes of clay pigeons for the number of people in your group (1-4.) My cart started out life as a sporting clays machine but was discarded because everyone was going to four seat ATV's. Bigger, faster, more comfortable, and robust. Surprisingly my cart did not have a basket on it when I first got it. Just gun racks and back seat.

Like you I use my cart for hauling people, gear and beer to and from the lake. But my biggest use is carrying gas down to the boat cause I’m too cheap to buy it at the marina. It also makes a nice wide stepladder so I can reach higher limbs with the loppers.
Front clays/cargo basket recommendations

Mine is made by Grizzly Metalworks. It’s very strong and no rattles. It is total overkill for clays, but anything worth doing is worth overdoing, right?

Mine is a cheap China knock off. $75 with free shipping. I would never trust it with anything over 100lbs. Thinking the safe working limit is only 50-75lbs even. Hauling an outboard down to the lake, or wood for a campfire would be crazy. For those times I have an ATV, JD tractor, and various trailers that can safely haul that stuff.

With that said I use "Pepe" most often with it's clay basket. It's so easy to get on and off, silent, and going just a few yards and stopping is a non event. Creeping along and pausing with just releasing the pedal is perfect at times for things like spraying poison ivy.

When the wife is planting flowers in the spring I load the basket up with her flowers and follow her around the property as she's putting them into the ground a few steps apart. During the summer I put a sprayer in the basket and drive around to the weedy spots and give them a squirt.

Working on anything down the hill I throw the tools in the basket and if I do forget something it's an easy an silent run back to the garage. The list just keeps going. Great investment. Oh and running down the gravel roads to visit people with refreshments in the basket is priceless. :)
