Default non-flat tires?

Any body have any suggestions on putting something in tires to keep from going flat?

Compresssed air? I use slime around the farm with 50/50 results. Guys at the tire shop hate it.
I think foam filled would make a cart ride rough but no experience with it.

Are you getting a lot of flat tires, or have a lot of slow leaks?

Had an older Columbia come in that during the course of servicing I noticed a nail in a tire & thought I'd be a nice guy and plug it. Took the wheel off to find it weighed more than 50 lbs. With it off the cart I could also see it had more like a dozen nails & screws in it. Turns out the owner had bought it from a scrap metal yard. All the tires had been filled (wasn't sure with what) and are now functionality solid tires like a forklift. No "give" at all that I could tell. They added at least a couple hundred pounds to the carts weight, rode awful, but never had to worry about flats. The other tire all turned out to have multiple nail & screws as well. I'd guess the yard figured the lousy ride quality was nothing compared to constant flats.

Foam filled is horrible on a golf cart. Acceleration, range, and braking are all horrible. We sold a local place a used clubcar for their maintenance/landscaping department. They brought me their wheels to install. Instantly turned it into a POS. And if you put fix-a-flat or slime in tires with alloy wheels, be prepared to buy new rims down the road, these products corrode the wheels. Never tried it myself, but the Mexico trick is latex paint.

I recently had a 2003 DS with “50 pound foam wheels.” All four of them went to the trash after a couple of days.

Never had trouble with my cart tires but had to put tubes in my zero turn.

I would try orange seal before slime. Much cleaner if you need to remove a tire. It's made for tubeless bike tires but should work good on golf cart tires.

Use atv rated 4-6ply tires, though I would guess a nail would still go in there. For lawn and carts I put tubes in if leaks are an issue. If you have steel wheels you can take them off and sand and paint the inside, that will make the bead seal again and they work great for a long time. I've used the cheap spraycan stuff in car tires a few times and it worked, but I would not use in my alum cart wheels. I also have a plug kit and use that for nails.
