Default Melex w/ Honda 250 Recon running gear

I just purchased a melex cart that has a Honda Recon 250 4 wheeler back half in it, it is a very good design but not too well thought out, at least the fabrication was not given much thought. The first thing I want to change is the location of the fuel tank. Right now it is bungee corded to the top of the basket behind the seats. If I mount a fuel tank under the seat is there a fuel pump that can be used since it will no longer be high enough to gravity feed? I know there are a couple of these builds on here so what are you guys using?

I will post pic's as soon as I figure out how. Has anyone tried using an electric fuel pump with a regulator to reduce the pressure to 2 or 3 lbs?

I had the little 2.5 lb electric pump on mine to start with, it overflowed the carb big time, I use the same pump (facett brand) on my drag bike with gravity needle and seats but I use a bypass hose , it t's in the line between the pump and the carb, then t's back in to the line before the pump and you put a restrictor in the bypass line, i'm not sure how to figure the size of the restrictor but it is probably a little bit smaller than the needle size in the carb, I have used that for ever and it works perfect on the bike. Post up some pics of your project, WE WANT PICS!!

Put your pics on photobucket.com, then copy the img url from there and put it in the little box that opens here when you click on the icon ( looks like a yellow postage stamp with a pyramid on it), I always preview the post to make sure it works before actually posting it.

This is a shot of all three of my carts, My son's 83 Marathon that we completely rebuilt and painted and installed an EMP 2 speed motor with the resistors still in use. The 2000 is my electric cart and is 42 volt and a separate 12 volt bat. for accessories and has an EMP 2 speed motor and an alltrax 400 amp controller with lots of other goodies. The maroon one is the Melex with the Honda Recon running gear.As I said before it was a good concept but the guy had no fabrication skills. I have purchased a tubing bender and notcher and will rebuild it in the coming month or so.
