Default Thoughts on a lifted Carryall Turf 2?

So I have a chance to get a Turf 2, pretty reasonable. Problem is, to get out back it needs to be lifted. Well, it doesn't NEED to be lifted... but... it would look way sharper travelling around out there if it was.. Plus have a bit more ground clearance, and traction.

My thoughts would be roughly the same build we did on the Wife's DS. Jake's long travel, 23" tires, and maybe a couple power enhancers. It has the FE350, so a bit more than our DS...

Are there any snags, or known issues involved with the Carryalls to know about before I go look at this thing? Thanks alot!

We have the Carryall (not exactly which model) and the Kawasaki Mules at work. I wouldn't give a dollar for either one of them. Both seem to like to blow out the drive shafts. We have replaced both front and rear diffs in several of the carryalls. The mules throttle body is the biggest joke and expensive if not under warranty. Same for the fuel pump. These are used in our parks and i know may be beat on a bit but still think they are under built. We have had so many issues with both we have started buying John Deere Gators

SSBBQ... Mike is probably talking about the Carryall 295/1500/1550's,
That's Club Cars version of a 4WD side x side... so it's "apples and oranges" compared to the 2WD Turf 2.

The Turf 2 is basically a DS, with a dump box, and slightly stiffer suspension,
a LOT of BGW members have them, and love them, because they're dependable, and easy to work on.

Because they're "work" vehicles, they tend to get abused a bit more than the standard cart,
so you may want to see how it steers, and take a good look at the front suspension, that's usually the part of the cart that takes the most abuse!

A few other things to look for...
Check for broken welds on the frame gussets, usually towards the front, under the floorboard.
Some come with a factory lift, and 22" tires, and some come with 4 wheel drum brakes, so you'll need to consider that when adding an LT lift.

Otherwise, Turf 2's are a stout, and dependable cart!

Awesome. I don't think this one is the factory lifted one, tires look just like the DS did. I'm getting a bit more info on it, then going to take a look at it, bringing a trailer, and it's probably coming home this week. Other than swapping on my knobby tires, it will be left alone til winter... then the nonsense starts again...

Yeah... "nonsense on the nonsense" is great. We usually get things really going around here with a "I''ll see your nonsense and raise you a ---------" Saturday nights are usually quite likely to have that quote flying around here...

Anyway, I am going to go look at this thing soon, and see what it's all about. Give it a test drive, and hopefully load it up. I wish I could find one really cheap, that the front end is trashed on, buying a front end that I am going to take off and trip over for 6 months is, well, Nonsense. But it's probably better to be able to really try it out before the build starts.

I happen to have a few hydraulic pumps and dumps laying around from various lowrider builds.. so I think the body will be power up, with just a slow-down behind a dump valve for down. I'll see how much extra battery room there is under there when I go look at it. 12V should be plenty for a tiny bed full of dirt...

Trigger pulled. This thing goes REALLY good for being stock. And it's not in bad shape, for what it has probably been through. Here we go again. Only mod for now will be the knobby rear tires off our DS, the Turf II spins pretty easy on the turf tires. Over the winter, it will get a little bigger. I'll get some pictures when the weather improves..

Does anybody have a picture of how the rear roof supports work on these? I have a few DS brackets, frames, and pieces, so I should be able to come up with something... Would like it to look right though.
