Got a electric ez go, want to convert it to gas and lift it
Want to put 16 hp motor in and lift it. Has anyone done this to electric. Have any info. Wondering about gearing and torque. Not really to speed. 20 mph is good. 25 would be better.lol

Just curious why not just pick up a gas cart if that is what you want? Seems like a lot of work?

So you have gas carts but you think it will be cheaper to convert an electric to gas then upgrade that?

Used motor for 300 bucks is a GOOD deal IF it is good. Have you heard it run UNDER LOAD for half an hour or so? That is usually a pretty good test as they can sound pretty good running cold with no load. You will also need a gas rear end for the cart, clutches and belt, a cradle, fuel tank, assorted controls and some fab work to the electric frame to hold her all together. DO keep us posted!

Re: Got a electric ez go, want to convert it to gas and lift it
Do you know most stock carts have at least a 300cc motor. Might be better to start with a gas cart or at least a parts cart to get rear end and engine cradle. No way to safely install drive sprocket on electric rear without machine work or rigging of things that gets expensive. Good luck with your project!
