Try searching the site sponsors for progressive or dual action leaf springs.
Supposed to ride like stock when there's little load then perform like HD springs when the load is heavy due to a helper leaf. EDIT: forget everything I just said, just realized you have a yami. |

Re: mid range rear shocks?
I know this thread is starting to get dusty, but I want a solution for this too. I’m honestly thinking of some sort of small airbags in the rear for this with an on board mini 12v air compressor. If I’m going to be hauling people or heavy loads, I’ll just add some air to the bags. If it’s going to just be me a lot, I’ll just let some out. I haven’t looked back there a lot to see how feasible this would or wouldn’t be but it’s a thought.

Re: mid range rear shocks?
Air shocks would also be an option to bags, regular shocks don't hold weight they only dampen bounce.

Re: mid range rear shocks?
Some SxS come equipped with shocks that have adjustable spring preload like motorcycles used to. A collar with stepped notches is used for the bottom spring seat on the shock. It would take some looking but you might find something to match up. Personally, the air shocks idea sounds like a better option.
