I have a can and I have tried it. Also the steering shaft rubs on the cutout of the top plate. Not always but it's so close that just a little frame movement in rougher areas will cause it.
I beats the heck out of the Jake's lift kit that was on it. Just looking at options for the next build.

After investigating the knock is from where the top bolt holds the A frame. Seems to be slop in there. As well as slop here.

I have the same issues in mine. I also notice the lower shock bolt on the drivers side cut thru the bushing. I have been trying to find out why it leaned for the longest time.
