Help With Front End Lift 2000 PDS

I recently installed new heavy duty leaf springs on the rear of my 2000 ez-go PDS. They brought my back end up 4 1/2 inches. Now the front end is low. I hoped to just flip the front leaf springs on top of the axle, but it appears as though the stearing arms are going to hit. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do?IMG00059[1].jpg

Heavy duty springs should not have raised the back 4.5". Pics would help... The only way I know to raise the front would be to install a lift axle. Site sposors can help ya with that...

I measured the back bumper before I started the rear leaf springs. It measured 15" after job it measured 19 1/2". Once I removed the old leafs, I took a picture of the old next the new. The old springs were completely flat. I currently have a 4" lift front axle but the leaf springs are mounted on the bottom of the front axle. I am hoping to put the front leafs on top of the axle to raise the front up approx 2". I am trying to upload more pics to help. How do you do it on a "reply"?

The easiest fix would be to space the springs at the body. I don't think ya can get more than an inch though. I think an inch would do the trick...

In all honesty I wouldn't worry about that little difference.
The blocks Dirty is talking about will work, seems to me you can put in bigger than 1" though. Most i've seen where made from heavy gage 2" square tubing or solid aluminum blocks.
I have seen and done the springs on top the axle and you can adjust it to where the springs won't hit the tie rod bars. You just tilt the axle a little and the end of the spindle arms will move up clearing the tie rod tube/axle. It doesn't have to clear by much, there isn't a whole lot of flex in the spring that close to the axle. This picture is when I was doing my cart, you can see where the tube was hitting the spring. I just loosen the front bolts and tighten up the back ones which tilted the axle a little, making the end of the risers move up providing the needed clearance. I don't seem to have a good after pic of that (guess I was to busy riding) but it clears the tubes by about 3/4". I have seen people put the springs right on top the axle, i have seen them use plates between the spring/axle, doesn't seem to really matter which way it's done. I use my receiver plate on this one only because I needed to mount it somewhere.

One more question. If by some chance I do get the leaf springs to fit on top of the axle and clear the tie rods. This will lift the front of the body approx 2". Will I need to get longer shocks for the front end?

You can get shock extention at napa or maybe some other parts store

Well guys and girls, I got the front leaf springs on top of the axle and the cart is now level. I got the alignment as close as I could by the eye and it seems to drive fine. One issue I am having is when I back up and cut the wheel sharp the cart starts dragging one of the front tires. It drags the outside tire so if you are backing left, the right tire starts dragging and if you are backing right, the left front tire is dragging. Is that an alignment issue, or are the tie rods too steep now?
